The Sasol TechnoX, which will take place from 13-17 August 2018 at Boiketlong Sport Centre in Sasolburg, will again aim to create awareness and excitement around science, maths and technology.
Going into its 18th year, the Sasol TechnoX has had great success in educating learners about the endless possibilities of science and technology. One of the frequent exhibitors, MerSETA (Manufacturing. Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority) will again be providing career guidance to students on the ‘careerbus’.
The careerbus, equipped with 14 computer workstations, has been mobilising career guidance solutions nationally for the past four years reaching more than 33 000 learners. Last year alone a number of 1 007 students visited the careerbus at the Sasol TechnoX.
Science and technology is the future and will allow South Africa to reach its goal of 6% economic growth. In order to grow a skilled STEM workforce, Merseta plays a vital role in transferring knowledge to students nationally.
